Mrs Bakhtiar Was Pushed

Extraordinary Rendition

11th September, 2001 was another fateful day in the history of revolution, which gave a new impetus to the emancipation and empowerment of masses. The noted humanist and social activist, Mr Armitage got in touch with the Great Leader, and conveyed to him the love and affection of the American public for the revolution and for its leaders. As a small token of this affection, he offered that the country could be bombed back to the Stone Age. The Great Leader, General Tinpot said (at the risk of sounding ungrateful), that actually the country was already there. He showed him a large collection of stones, which had been thrown at him by the masses, in delirious adulation. Mr. Armitage was convinced that this would be a most beneficial action, as the only gift of Pakistan to the human civilisation were lower Palaeolithic flint tools from the Soan Valley, before Imran Khan invented the reverse swing (with the help of Coca Cola bottle tops, he added: An American contribution).

The Glorious Revolution

Extraordinary Rendition

12th October, 1999 was a milestone in the history of Pakistan. On that day the nation cast off the shackles on freedom of expression, and started the process of banishing the grim memories of repression of Zia era. There was a flowering of new avenues of expression, and the phenomenal rise of new genres and art forms. This renaissance of liberal and secular outlook was further developed under the enlightened and forward looking supervision of PEMRA and the Press Complaints Commission. More...

MUSHARRAF MUST GO

January 18, 2008 at 6:36 AMAdministrator

by Omar Ali

The political crisis in Pakistan is primarily a creation of military rule. Because the army cannot maintain its dominant position in the face of "normal politics", its agencies work overtime to derail such politics and to undermine any popular leadership. They also encourage local mafias with a view to undermining national parties (since those parties can potentially mobilize the people against the army). The only hope for Pakistan lies in immediately throwing army rule in reverse. More...

Message from Justice Wajihuddin

January 16, 2008 at 3:18 PMAdministrator

wajihuddin.jpg

Honorable Justice Wajihuddin Ahmad has requested the public to share their suggestions for any peaceful steps/tactics/ways that could help make the movement for restoration of rule of law more effective.

Creative and innovative yet rational and practical ideas, focusing to spread the message to masses, giving the movement some momentum, getting maximum people of all colours of community involved, keeping in view the hurdles on the way, will be really appreciated.

Please post your suggestions here as comments. These will be compiled and sent to HJWA for consideration in their meetings with other leaders of the movement.

In a statement to Pakistan Politics, Justice Wajihuddin Ahmed, has disclosed that it has been communicated to him indirectly that the leadership of the lawyers movement for the restoration of the judiciary and rule of law, is likely to become the next target for elimination, by the same anti-state, anti-democracy elements that were responsible for Benazir Bhutto’s assassination.

He appeals to all Pakistanis to join him in his prayers for the safety of members of the lawyer community, and the future of Pakistan.
